If you discover a fire
- Leave the building, closing all the doors
- Call 999 and alert the fire brigade of the emergency
- Report the location of the fire to the proprietor
- DO NOT re-enter until you are told it is safe to do so
On hearing the alarm
- LEAVE the building immediately, close all doors.
- DO NOT run.
- REPORT to the assembly area.
- Call the Fire Brigade. (999)
- KEEP CALM – Panic will worsen the situation.
In the event of a fire or for the purposes of a fire drill practice there will be ONE LONG CONTINUOUS RING of the fire alarm. It is the responsibility of senior staff / directors of MMG to carry out checks of the fire bell regularly and the proprietor will determine when to carry out a practice.
ON HEARING THE BELL STAFF WILL
- Collect the class in a quiet and controlled manner
- Check drum pods, reception and toilet areas
- Ensure all other adults working in the class are assembled
- Proceed in a quiet and controlled manner using the appropriate exit to the fire assembly point
- Doors must be shut on leaving the building
- Senior and/or directors of MMG will then check to see whether the fire has been removed before members of the public can come back into the building
- Classes return in a quiet and orderly manner
